1891 - Born on the 22nd of May in Munich, Germany.
- He studied medicine and philosophy in Munich.
- Left his studies and became an expressionist writer.
- After the Second World War he went to the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) and held different
cultural-political positions (Minister of Culture) in the GDR.
- Wrote the lyrics of the GDR's national anthem, "Auferstanden aus Ruinen" ("Risen from the Ruins").
1958 - Johannes Robert Becher died on 11th of October.
