Nora Bayes was a popular United States singer, entertainer.

1880 - Born Leonora Goldberg in Joliet, Illinois.

1908 - Married singer and songwriter Jack Norworth.

- With Jack Norworth credited for collaborating on a number of tunes, including their huge hit Shine On,

Harvest Moon, which the pair debuted in Florenz Ziegfeld's Follies.

1917 - Recorded "Over There," the song that became an international hit.

1924-1928 - Made many phonograph records, some with Norworth, for the Victor Talking Machine Company and Columbia Records.

1928 - Contracted cancer and died 19th of June during surgery.
