1813 - Birth year of Sir Redmond Barry, a British colonial judge in Victoria, Australia.

 

1838 - Educated at a military school in Kent, and at Trinity College, Dublin, and was called to the Irish bar.

 

1848 - He was instrumental to the foundation of the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

 

1851 - Became commissioner of the court of Victoria.

 

1852 - Appointed judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

 

1853 - Barry was instrumental to the foundation of the University of Melbourne.

 

       - Served as the first chancellor of the university.

 

1855 - Redmond Barry was the Supreme Court judge for the Eureka Stockade treason trials.

 

1862 - He represented Victoria at the London International Exhibition.

 

1867 - Barry was in the Philadelphia Exhibition.

 

1877 - Created a KCMG (Order of St. Michael and St. George).

 

1880 - Presided at the final trial of Ned Kelly and he sentenced Kelly to death by hanging.

 

       - Sir Redmond Barry died 23rd of November.
