Charles Wade Barkley is an American former basketball power forward.
1963 - Born 20th of February in Leeds, Alabama.
1984 - Left Auburn a year early to begin playing in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers.
1990 - Became involved in a few scandals, notoriously a fight with Detroit Pistons center Bill Laimbeer.
1991-1992 - Wore number 32 instead of 34 in honor of Magic Johnson.
1992 - Won the Olympic gold medal with the U.S. Dream Teams and 1996 Games.
1993 - Named Most Valuable Player of the NBA.
- Barkley was featured in a controversial Nike television commercial, which centered on him saying the phrase, "I am not a role model".
