1582 - Barclay was born in Lorraine, France on January 28, 1582.
1601 - Obtained his early education at the Jesuit College. At the age on nineteen, he was able to write a commentary on the Thebais of Statius.
1605 - Barclay married a french girl, Louise Debonaire.
1609 - Edited the "De Potestate Papae", an anit-papal treatise by his father.
1616 - Barclay went to Rome for unexplained reason.
1621 - On August 15, 1621, Barclay died in Rome.
