1933 - Abdol-hassan Banisadr was born 22nd of March.

 

1960 - Banisadr had participated in the anti-Shah student movement.

 

1963 - He was imprisoned.

 

         - He then fled to France and joined the Iranian resistance group led by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

 

1979 - Returned to Iran together with Khomeini as the revolution was begun.

 

1979-1980 - After the revolution he was the deputy economy and finance minister and acting foreign minister.

 

1980 - Banisadr elected as President of Iran.

 

         - In August and September, Banisadr survived two helicopter crashes near the Iranian border with Iraq.

 

1981 - Banisadr was impeached on 21st of June by the Majlis (the Iranian Parliament).
