1938 - Born on the 29th of October in Haifa then part of the British Mandate of Palestine.

 

1957 - Graduated in School of Industrial Art, where he received an award in cartooning.

 

1971 - Steve Krantz tagged on as a producer on what was to be Bakshi's first feature film.

 

1972 - Fritz the Cat opened in LA and New York to rave reviews and was a box office smash.

 

1973 - Production of Coonskin (a.k.a. Streetfight) began at Bakshi Studios on Melrose in Hollywood.

 

1975 - Coonskin opened with a screening at Museum of Modern Art in NYC to so much controversy that Paramount soon withdrew its release.

 

1977 - Directed and produced the Wizard, released and received with great acclaim.

 

1980 - Written, directed and produced by Bakshi, Hey, Good Looking was released.

 

1988 - Tattertown , a Christmas special for television was completed directly following Mighty Mouse and This Ain't Be Bop.

 

1995 - Bakshi wrote, directed and produced two cartoons for Hannah Barbera.
