1906 - Born on the 3rd of June in St. Louis, Missouri.
1917 - She survived in the riots in East St. Louis, Illinois.
1919 - Began dancing in vaudeville and on Broadway.
1925 - Went to Paris where, after the jazz revue La Revue Nègre failed, her comic ability and jazz dancing drew attention of the director of the Folies Bergère.
1951 - She was refused service at the famous Stork Club in New York City.
1963 - She spoke at the March on Washington at the side of Martin Luther King, jr.
1969 - Evicted from her chateau that was then auctioned off to pay debts.
1973 - Married an American, Robert Brady, and began her stage comeback.
1975 - Josephine Baker's Carnegie Hall comeback performance was a success, as was her subsequent Paris performance.
1975 - She died 12th of April because of a cerebral hemorrhage.
