Baker, George Fisher
1840 - Born on March 27th in Troy, New York. Baker was an American financier, bank president, and philanthropist, who endowed the graduate school of business administration at Harvard University.
1863 - Baker was one of the founders of the First National Bank of New York.
- When the national banking system was created, Baker joined with several New York stockbrokers to establish the First National Bank of New York City.
1877 - Became the president of the First National Bank of New York.
1909 - Was the chairman of its board of directors.
1931 - Died on May 2nd at the age of 91 in New York City.
