Baha'ullah

1817 - Born on the 12th of November in Tehran, the capital city of Persia, nowadays called Iran.

1830 - He was a devout Muslim, and he discussed intricate religious matters with leading ulema.

1845 - Received a messenger telling him of the Báb, whose message he accepted to become a Bábí.

1852 - He was persecuted and imprisoned.

1853 - Bahá'u'lláh and his family traveled from Persia to Baghdad.

1854 - On 10th of April Bahá'u'lláh, without informing anyone of his intention, left with one cohort to the mountains of Kurdistan, northeast of Baghdad, near the city Sulaymaniyah.

Wrote that he left so as to avoid fetching the source of disparity within the Bábí community.

1863 - Proclaimed himself as the prophet that Bab-ed-Din had foretold and became the leader of the new Baha'i Faith.

Bahá'u'lláh wrote his most important eschatological work the Kitáb-i-Íqán.

1890 - Cambridge orientalist Edward Granville Browne had an dialog with Bahá'u'lláh in this house then he wrote his famous pen-portrait of Bahá'u'lláh.

1892 - Bahá'u'lláh felt a slight fever, which causes him to become sick.

- He died on the 29th of May and was buried in a Shrine located next to the Mansion of Bahjí.
