Elfego Baca was a lawman, lawyer, and politician.

 

1865 - Born 10th of February in Socorro, New Mexico.

 

1893-1896 - Returned to Socorro and was elected Socorro County Clerk.

 

          - During his tenure as county clerk, Baca was admitted to the bar.

 

1896-1898 - Elected as Mayor of the city of Socorro.

 

1900-1901 - Became school superintendent for Socorro county.

 

1905 - Governor Otero appointed him district attorney for Socorro and Sierra counties.

 

1906 - Complied with a request to resign this position.

 

1919-1920 - Elected as a sheriff of Socorro county.

 

1945 - Baca died 27th of August in his bed.
