1954 - He married the former Georgia McCampbell Perkins on the 11th of September and lived in Greenwich, Conn. and Peru, Vt.
1972 - Ashforth joined the company and became its chairman and chief executive.
1960-1970 - Ashforth was one of the first in the real estate business to bring companies to the suburbs.
1980 - Among Ashforth properties are Stamford Square, which the company built with partners GE Capital.
2001 - Died peacefully in a Stamford hospital on the 21st of September.
