1958 - He joined with Castro rebels and was a Cuban soldier in the United States.
1961 - He led the Bay of Pigs invasion.
- Artime was said to have been the civilian leader of Cuba if the Bay of Pigs Invasion had succeeded was not among the civilian leadership held incommunicado 17th to 20th of April at Opalocka Florida until the invasion failed.
1977 - Died of cancer on the 18th of November.
