1940 - Born 28th of February in Montona d'Istria, Italy, now Motovun, Croatia.
1959 - Andretti placed 3rd in the Indianapolis 500 in his first year.
1964 - Mario made his debut in the USAC series, and won the championship the very next season.
1967 - Daytona 500 and the Formula One World Championship.
1968 - Started driving in Formula One, taking the pole for his first race at Watkins Glen.
1969 - Only driver ever to win the Indianapolis 500.
1978 - Won the Formula One World Championship,
1979 - IROC championship.
1990 - He was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America.
2000 - The Associated Press and RACER magazine named him "Driver of the Century."
