1907 - Anderson, born on May 26th in Louisville, Kentucky, was the son of Dr. Charles W. and Tabetha Murphy Anderson. Kentucky's first black legislator and the first black lawmaker in the South since Reconstruction.
- He was a graduate of Wilberforce University and received his law degree from Howard University School of Law.
1933 - Anderson was admitted to the Kentucky Bar.
1936 - As a Republican, was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives, making him the first African American Kentucky legislator.
1946 - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Jefferson County - the first black lawyer to occupy such an office in the South.
- Anderson was also appointed alternate delegate to the United Nations.
1960 - Died on June 14th from an accident involving a car and train.
