1850 - Born on 6 September in Douville, diocese of Evreux, France.
1861 - He was educated at Minor Seminary of Evreux.
1867 - Entered the Seminary of Saint-Sulpice, Paris.
1873 - He was ordained as a priest on 20 December in Paris.
- Pastoral work in the diocese of Evreux and secretary to its bishop.
1884 - Received his titular canon.
1889 - He was vicar general.
1890 - He was vicar capitular.
1898 - Elected bishop of Bayeux on November 28th.
1899 - Consecrated on January 25th at the Cathedral of Evreux, by Cardinal Guillaume Marie Romain Sourrieu, archbishop of Rouen, assisted by François Sueur, archbishop of Avignon, and by Philippe Meunier, bishop of Evreux.
1906 - Promoted to the titular archbishop of Side and appointed coadjutor, with right of succession, of Paris, on February 21st.
1911 - Created cardinal priest in the consistory of November 27th.
- Received the red hat and the title of S. Sabina on November 30th.
1914 - Participated in the conclave.
1920 - Died on August 29th in Antony and was buried at the metropolitan cathedral in Paris.
