1867 - Luis Altamirano Talavera was born in Concepcion on the 5th of July.

 

1891 - He joined the congressional army as an artillery captain.

 

1892 - He became a Lieutenant Colonel.

 

1897 - He left the army.

 

1898 - He was named commander of Regiment N3 of artillery.

 

1908 - He was promoted to full Colonel and named Under-Chief of General staff.

 

1911 - He was sent as military attache to the Chilean embassy in Berlin.

 

1912 - He was promoted to Brigadier General and named Inspector General of artillery and Army Chief of staff.

 

1919 - He was promoted to Division General and named Commander of the II Division.

 

1922 - He was named Army Inspector General.

 

1924 - He appeared in front of Congress to demand the passage of eight laws on September 8, 1924. He established a military Junta to rule the country on September 11, 1924.

 

1924-1925 - He became the President of the Government Junta of Chile.

 

1925 - He lost the confidence of the "military committee" and was deposed and arrested by another military coup on 23rd of January. He retired from active duty on the 6th of February.

 

1938 - He died in Santiago on the 25th of July.
