1949 - Almodovar was born in Ciudad Real, Spain on the 24th of September.
1957 - Attended a Catholic boarding school run by Salesian friars and witnessed some of his fellow students were abused by priests.
1965 - At the age of sixteen, he was able to worked a number of odd jobs to support himseld in Madrid. He was employed in a Spanish phone company and was able to saved his salary. With his saving, he bought his first camera, a Super 8.
1972-1978 - Devoted most of his time to make short films with the help of of his friends. He played a crucial figure in the Madrilene Movement.
1980 - Made his film feature film entitled Pepi, Luci, Bom and Other Woman on the Heap with a small budget.
1985 - Founded Desire (El Deseo), his own production company.
1986 - His company Desire released its first film, The Law of Desire.
1988 - Directed the movie titled Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.
1990 - Directed the movie titled Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!.
1992 - Became a member of jury at the Cannes Film Festival.
1999 - Directed the movie titled All About My Mother and received an Academy Award for Best Foreign-language Film.
2002 - Directed the movie titled Talk to Her and received an Academy Award for Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen.
2006 - Directed the movie titled Volver. The film was able to get the following awards Best Screenplay and Best Actress at Cannes Film Festival.
