1740 - Almeida was born in Lisbon on September 10, 1740.
1760 - Studied law at the University of Coimbra for three years and diverted his time in teaching rhetoric.
1776 - Almeida was sent to Lisbon to fill a certain post.
1777 - Almeida was named professor of rhetoric and his interest shifted from teaching to public office.
1790 - Almeida was honored with the title of knight of the royal family.
