1693 - Allen was baptised on July 24, 1693 at St. Columb Major, Cornwall.

 

1706 - At the age of thirteen, he started working at the Post Office.

 

1710 - Became a clerk in the Bath Post Office.

 

1712 - Promoted as the Post Master of Bath.

 

1725 - Elected as a member of the town council.

 

1738 - Gave money and supported the building of the Mineral Water Hospital.

 

1742 - He built the Palladian mansion Prior Park and was elected Mayor of Bath.

 

1757-1764 - A member of Parliament of for Bath for seven years. On June 29, 1764, died at the age of seventy-one.
