Allen, Ivan Jr.

1911 - Allen was born in Atlanta, Georgia on the 5th of March.

1929-1933 - Attended and earned his degree in business administration at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

1936 - Married Louise Richardson on the 1st of January.

1941-1945 - Served in the US Army during World War II, he started as a second lieutenant and was discharged as a major.

1947 - Headed the Atlanta's Community Chest drive.

1960 - He was elected President of the Chamber of Commerce.

1962-1970 - Won the election and became the Mayor of Atlanta. He established the Atlanta Falcons, a National Football League team and the Atlanta Hawks, a professional basketball team.

1981 - Received the Martin Luther King Jr. Nonviolent Peace Prize.

2003 - Died in Sandy Springs on 2nd of July.
