1751 - Allen was born in Cornwall, Connecticut on April 21, 1751.
1776-1777 - Became a member of the Vermont Legislature. He designed the university seal of the University of Vermont and the Great Seal of Vermont.
1780 - He proposed to the Legislature a memorial for the establishment of the University of Vermont.
1795 - Went to France and bought 20,000 muskets and 24 cannon but he was captured at sea before he can reach Vermont.
1798 - Published his book entitled The Natural and Political History of Vermont.
1807 - Published his book entitled Statements Appended to the Olive Branch.
1814 - Died on January 7, 1814.
