Aliyev, Ilham

1961 - Aliyev was born in Baku, Azerbaijah on December 24, 1961.

1990 - Received his PhD in history and international relations at Moscow State Institute for International Relations.

1991-1994 - Worked as a businessman and was appointed vice-president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan.

2003 - Appointed Prime Minister, two months before the presidential elections. On October 15, 2003, Aliyev was proclaimed winner and took his oath on October 31, 2003.

2005 - Elected Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party on March 26, 2005.
