1929 - Alexei I was born in Moscow, Russia on the 9th of March.

 

1645 - After his father's death, Alexei I succeeded the throne on the 13th of July. He was under the care of the boyar Boris Morozov.

 

1648 - Married Maria Miloslavskaya on the 17th of January. In May, the people of Moscow rose against Morozoy in the Salt Riot. Alexei I pacified the people but he had to exile Morozov.

 

1653 - Attempted to recover lands from Poland during the disorder in Poland.

 

1654 - He succeeded to take over the towns including the Fortress of Smolensk.

 

1656 - Alexei declared war against Sweden.

 

1661 - He resolved his problems with Sweden by using the Peace of Kardis.

 

1671 - Married Nataliya Kyrillovna Naryshkina on the 1st of February.
