1853 - Moses Alexander was born in Obrigheim, Bavaria, Germany on the 13th of November.
1867 - Alexander emigrated to the United States and settled in New York City.
1874 - He made a partner in the store.
1876 - He married Helena Kaestner.
1886 - He was elected to the Chillicothe City Council.
1887 - He was elected as mayor and served for two terms.
1891 - He left Chillicothe and went to Boise, Idaho. He opened the first clothing store on the corner of Ninth and Main in Boise.
1895 - Alexander build Ahavath Beth Israel synagogue.
1897 - He was elected as mayor of Boise.
1899 - He chose not to run for the reelection.
1901 - He was re-elected.
1908 - He was declared the Democratic nominee for governor by the Idaho Supreme Court.
1910 - He was nominated again but declined due to poor health.
1914 - He entered the gubernatinal race on a platform and won the general elaction against Republican incumbent John M. Haines.
1916 - Alexander was re-elected.
1915-1919 - He was elected as the first Jewish governor of a U.S. state.
1922 - He was the Democratic nominee for governor.
1931 - He made his last public appearance for the Democrats on the 29th of December.
1932 - He died in Boise, Idaho on the 4th of January.
