1814 - Alemany was born in Vich, Catalonia on July 3, 1814.

 

1830 - Entered the Dominican Order.

 

1831 - Made his solemn profession.

 

1837 - Ordained as a priest on March 11, 1837.

 

1840-1848 - Engaged himself in missionary activity in the Eastern and Southern United States. Became a naturalized American citizen. Appointed Prior-Provincial of the Dominican province of St. Joseph the Worker.

 

1850 - Consecrated as the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Monterey in California on June 30, 1850.

 

1853 - Became the first Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco.

 

1884 - Appointed Titular Archbishop of Pelusium upon his return in Spain.

 

1888 - Died in Valencia, Spain on April 14, 1888.
