1859-1860 - Joined the Spanish military operation in Morocco. Wrote "A Witness Diary of the African War".

 

1874 - Wrote the comic novel El Sombrero de Tres Picos, which was well received and made him famous.

 

1891 - Died on July 19, 1891.
