1934 - Agnelli was born in Lausanne, Switzerland on November 1, 1934.
1959 - Graduated with a Law degree at the University of Turin.
1965 - Assumed the presidency of Fiat France and was appointed as a chairman of the former Frence branch of Fiat, Simca Industries, and of Piaggio.
1976 - Stepped down from all industrial positions to run for election as an independent senator on the centrist list of the Christian Democrats.
1979 - Returned to Fiat and became the chief executive officer and later chairman of the company's core automotive sector.
1980 - Agnelli resigned to his position as a chief executive and was replaced by Romiti.
2003 - Became the chairman of Fiat.
2004 - Died of cancer in Turin, Italy on May 28, 2004.
