1928 - Born on the 15th of September in Tampa, Florida.
1950 - He was a Jazz alto saxophonist of the small combo era.
1955 - He was a local legend in Florida until he moved to New York City.
1957 - He joined the Miles Davis sextet.
- He played on the seminal Davis records Milestones and Kind of Blue.
1960 - His playing began to reflect the influence of the electric jazz avant-garde, and Miles Davis' experiments
on the radical album Bitches Brew.
1970 - He began doubling on soprano saxophone, showing the influence of John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter.
1975 - He died of a stroke in the 8th of August and he was buried in the Southside Cemetery, Tallahassee,
Florida.
