Adams, Oscar William Jr.

1925 - Adams was born in Birmingham, Alabama on February 7, 1925.

1944 - Earned his bachelor's degree from Talladega College.

1947 - Received his law degree from Howard University, he was admitted to the Alabama bar after his graduation.

1980 - Appointed by Governor Fob James to the Alabama Supreme Court.

1982 - Became the first African American to be appointed and elected to a statewide constitutional office.

1997 - Died on February 15, 1997 in Birmingham, Alabama.
