1843-1844 - Between these years, he was the first person to predict the position of a planetary mass beyond Uranus

 

1845-1846 - Became the subject of a famous priority dispute with the French astronomer Urbain Leverrier - predicted existence of Neptune indedependently of Urbain Leverrier

 

1830s-1850s - Went to Cambridge to study

 

1861 - Director of Cambridge Observatory

 

1892 - Died on January 21
