Adams, Herbert Baxter
1850 - Born on the 16th of April in Shutesbury, Massachusetts.
1872 - He graduated from the Amherst College.
1873 - He went to Europe and devoted three years to travel and study.
1876 - He received the degree of PhD at Heidelberg, Germany.
- He was a fellow in history at Johns Hopkins University for two years.
1880 - He began his famous seminar in history.
1883 - He was appointed associate professor.
- He is credited with coining the phrase "political science".
1884 - He was the secretary of the American Historical Association at its foundation.
1901 - He died on the 30th of July.
