Abshire, David Manker
1926 - Born on the 11th of April in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
1944 - He graduated from Baylor School.
1951 - He graduated from West Point, New York.
- He fought in the Korean War and was decorated as a company commander.
1959 - He received his doctorate in History from Georgetown University.
1962 - He founded the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
1970 - He served as Assistant Secretary of State for Congressional Relations.
1974 - He was a member of the Murphy Commission.
1975 - He was the chairman of the U.S. Board of International Broadcasting.
1980 - He was asked by President-elect Reagan to head the National Security Group.
- He served for nine years on the board of Proctor & Gamble.
1981 - He became a member of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.
1983 - He was appointed to oversee the deployment of Pershing and Cruise missiles.
- He was given the Distinguished Public Service Medal.
1991 - He became a member of President's Task Force on U.S. Government International
2002 - He was elected President of the Richard Lounsbery Foundation of New York.
2005 - He is a Republican and the author of six books.
