Abercrombie, Neil
1938 - Born on the 26th of June in Buffalo, New York.
1959 - He went on to pursue studies at Union College in Schenectady, New York and he
obtained his bachelor's degree.
1964 - He obtained his bachelor's degree.
- He moved to Honolulu, Hawaii to become a public school teacher at various
elementary and high schools
1970 - He participated in a political campaign, having sought the Democratic nomination
to run for the United States Senate.
1974 - He studied at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he obtained his doctorate.
1975 - He ran for the Hawaii State House of Representatives where he served for four years.
1979 - He moved to the upper chamber winning a seat in the Hawaii State Senate.
1986 - He was elected in a September special election to complete Heftel's unexpired term.
- He served in Congress.
1988 - He set his sights on a seat of the Honolulu City Council.
1990 - He ran again for Congress and won and has since been re-elected eight times.
2006 - He garnered 69% of the vote against his Republican opponent Richard "Noah" Hough, an Iraq
War veteran.
- He currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii.
