1869 - Born on the 9th of January at Danzig, Germany.
1891 - He received his PhD on the 19th of July under Hofmann at the University of Berlin.
- He discovered the theory of freezing point depression and anticipated Lewis' octet rule.
1899 - He became Privatdozent and one of the leaders of the chemical institute in Breslau.
1901 - He was active with an electrochemistry journal as editor.
1904 - He formulated the valence rule, after which the highest positive and highest negative electro-valence,
this is called "Abegg's rule".
1905 - He introduced the concept of the electro-affinity into chemistry and made the basis for the handbook
of the inorganic chemistry.
1909 - He became full professor at the TH Breslau, Poland.
- He published on electro-affinity with his colleague Guido Bodlander, then a new principle in
inorganic chemistry.
1910 - He died on the 3rd of April at Tessin, Germany.
