Abbott, Robert Sengstacke

1870 - Born on the 24th of November in Frederica, St. Simons Island, Georgia.

1892 - He studied the printing trade at Hampton Institute.

1898 - He received a law degree from Kent College of Law, Chicago.

1905 - He founded The Chicago Defender with an initial investment of 25 cents.
 
1940 - He died of Bright's disease (acute or chronic nephritis) on the 29th of February and was interred in

             the Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago.
