1829 - He founded the Mount Vernon School for Young Ladies in Boston and was principal of it.
1834 - He was pastor of Eliot Congregational Church (which he founded), at Roxbury, Massachusetts for one year.
1843 - His brothers, a founder, was a principal of Abbott Institute.
1845 - He was a prolific author, writing juvenile fiction, brief histories, biographies, religious books for the
general reader, and a few works in popular science.
1879 - He died on the 31st October in Farmington, Maine in the United States.
