1966 - Nastase traveled around the world competing with good friend Ion Tiriac.
1967 - Nastase won his first minor tournament at Cannes on the 16th of April.
1969 - His first final at an important tournament in Stockholm, where he defeated Tony Roche and Smith.
1970 - The French Open.
1971 - Nastase was the runner-up at a depleted French Open with 16 of the 32 World Championship Tennis players absent.
1972 - He became the second ranked player in the world owing to his winning the U.S.
1973 - He won Wimbledon.
1975 - The U.S. Open.
1976 - He was the singles runner-up at Wimbledon in 1972, losing in five sets to Stan Smith, losing to Björn Borg.
1978 - Nstase was still one of the 20 best players.
1982 - Nstase steadily declined and only occasionally defeated a good player, such as Johan Kriek in the third round of the U.S. Open.
