1723 - He become a skilled engraver of tombstones and was teaching writing.
1726 - He moved to Birmingham and set up a school in the Bull Ring.
1738 - Set up a japanning business in Moor Street (japanning was an early form of enamelling), in which he
first showed his mettle as an innovator.
1758 - Baskerville printed works for Cambridge University.
1763 - Although an atheist, printed a splendid folio Bible.
He is best remembered as a printer and typographer.
1775 - John Baskerville died on the 8th of January.
