1896 - Born on September 6th in Rome, Italy.  Italian literary critic and essayist, a preeminent scholar of English literature.

1914 - Praz was educated at the University of Bologna.

1918-1920 - Received degrees from the Universities of Rome and Florence.

1923 - He studied at the British Museum in London.

1924-1934 - Taught at the Universities of Liverpool and Manchester before returning to Italy.

1962 - Was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II as a Knight Commander of the British Empire.

1982 - Died on March 23rd in Rome.
