Prasad, Rajendra
1884 - Born in Zeradei in the Siwan district of Bihar near Patna on the 3rd of December.
1902 - He joined the Presidency College.
1915 - He passed with a Gold medal in Masters in Law examination with honors.
1914 - He took active role in helping the affected people during the floods that raged in Bihar and Bengal.
1934 - He was elected as the President of Indian National Congress during the Bombay session in October.
1935 - Quetta earthquake, when he was not allowed to leave the country, he set up relief committees in Sindh and Punjab.
1939 - He again became the President when Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose resigned.
1962 - After 12 years as President, he announced his decision to retire. He was subsequently awarded the Bharat Ratna, the nation's highest civilian award.
1963 - Died on the 28th of February at Sadaqat ashram, Patna with 'Ram Ram Ram' on his lips.
