1962 - Born on February 17th in Subic Bay Naval Station, Philippines. Lou Diamond Phillips is a multi-ethnic American actor, best known for playing the doomed rocker Ritchie Valens in La Bamba with Elizabeth Peña, and a Mexican-Indian desperado in Young Guns with Kiefer Sutherland.

1985 - He taught at Southern Methodist University.

1986 - Married to Julie Cypher.

1987-1990 - He starred in the films La Bamba, Dakota, Stand adn Deliver, Young Guns, Disorganized Crime, Renegades, The First Power and Young Guns II.

1994 - Married to Kelly Preston on April 24th.

         - He directed the film Dangerous Touch.

1996 - Was nominated for Broadway's Tony Award as Best Actor (Musical) for playing one of the title roles, the King, in a revival of "The King and I."

2001 - He appeared in the television series Wolf Lake as John Kanin.

2006 - In December, he pled guilty to domestic battery on his live-in girlfriend, who was not publicly identified. He was sentenced to three years' probation, one year of counseling, and 200 hours of community service.
