1957 - His big breakthrough came when he was featured playing a featured Dixieland number or two on each episode of The Lawrence Welk Show during.
1959 - He returned to New Orleans, played with The Dukes of Dixieland, then began leading bands under his own name, owning his own club in the French Quarter close around his other friends, such as Al Hirt.
1959-1965 - His finest recordings were a lengthy string for Coral (they turned commercial for a period after that).
2003 - Retired from the nightclub business.
