1943 – He was born Joseph Pesci on the 9th day of February this year in Newark, New Jersey.
1980 - His breakthrough as an actor came in 1980 opposite Robert De Niro in Martin Scorsese's boxing film Raging Bull. Subsequently he acted opposite De Niro several times, often in a similar role, in the films Once Upon A Time in America.
1991 – He won an Academy Award for best Supporting Role in the movie “Good Fellas”. He also starred in Home Alone, playing one of two bumbling burglars along with Daniel Stern who attempt to rob Macaulay’s house. And most memorably in one of his few stellar, non-gangster roles in JFK and finally My Cousin Vinny released in this year and 1992 respectively.
1999 – He announced that he was leaving acting to pursue a musical career and to enjoy life away from the camera.
2006 – He returned to acting when he did a cameo role in De Niro's latest flick “The Good Shepherd”.
