1942 - Born in Walton General Hospital in Liverpool, England on the 18th of June. English singer and was a member of the famous band, The Beatles.
1947 - He was five he attended Stockton Wood Road Primary school, the Joseph Williams Junior School, and passed the 11-plus exam.
1955 - His family moved to 20 Forthlin Road, which is now owned by The National Trust.
1957 - At 15, he met Lennon and the Quarrymen at the Woolton on the 6th of July.
1958 - He convinced Lennon to allow Harrison to join the Quarrymen after Lennon's initial reluctance when Lennon heard Harrison play at a rehearsal in March.
1960 - The Beatles were managed by Allan Williams starting in May and he booked them into Bruno Koschmider's Indra club in Hamburg.
- The group reunited in December, and on the 21st of March, played their first of many concerts at Liverpool's Cavern club.
1961 - On the 1st of October, he went with Lennon to Paris for two weeks. Paul starts writing many songs with John, that won't appear on record till later.
- The Beatles were first seen by Brian Epstein at the Cavern club on the 9th of November, and he later signed them to a management contract.
- The Beatles' road manager, Neil Aspinall, drove them to London on the 31st of December, where they auditioned the next day, but were rejected by Decca Records.
1962 - In April, they went back to Hamburg to play at the Star Club, and learned of Stuart Sutcliffe's death a few hours before they arrived.
1963 - Paul dated Jane Asher, they got engaged, then broke up five years later.
- Beatlemania starts in England after having a few hit records in the U.K.
1964 - After appearing on Ed Sullivan, and occupying 5 spots in the first 5 hits of the Billboard top 20 in U.S., then Beatlemania starts in America.
1966 - The Beatles stopped touring after their last concert at Candlestick Park, San Francisco, on the 29th of August.
1969 - Married to Linda Eastman, on March 12th in London.
1970 - He was the one who publicly announced the break-up on the 10th of April one week before releasing his first solo album, McCartney.
- Released his debut solo album, McCartney, in April.
1971 - His second solo album, Ram was credited to both Paul and Linda McCartney.
- On the 16th of April, he starred in a television variety show called James Paul McCartney.
1972 - In October, he recorded the theme song for the James Bond film "Live and Let Die".
1976 - He marked Buddy Holly Week in London with a celebrity party on what would have been Holly's 40th birthday.
1983 - Winner of the Sony Award For Technical Excellence.
- Winner of the British Phonographic Industry Award for British Male Solo Artist.
1984 - In a Playboy interview, he said that he went home that night and watched the news on television—whilst sitting with all his children—and cried all evening.
- He wrote and starred in the film "Give My Regards to Broad Street".
1986 - He co-wrote most of McCartney's album, "Press to Play".
1987 - Inducted with John Lennon into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
1990 - He venture into classical music.
1991 - The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society commissioned a musical piece by him to celebrate its sesquicentennial.
1995 - His next classical project to be released was "A Leaf", a solo-piano piece played by Royal College of Music gold-medal winner Anya Alexeyev.
1999 - He returned to his roots once again, recording another album of rock 'n' roll favorites from his youth titled "Run Devil Run".
2001 - Proved to be a busy and hectic one for him. In May, he released "Wingspan: An Intimate Portrait", a retrospective documentary that features behind-the-scenes films and photographs that Paul and Linda McCartney took of their family and bands.
- On the 11th of September, he was sitting on a plane in New York City when the World Trade Center terrorist attacks occurred and was able to witness the events from his seat. He took a lead role in organising The Concert for New York City in response to the events of September 11.
- He went on another world tour, which continued through the following two years.
2002 - Married to Heather Mills on June 11th.
2004 - The Beatles were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame for their outstanding contribution to British music and integral part of British music culture.
2003 - He went to Russia to play a concert in Red Square. Vladimir Putin gave him a tour of the Square, and he performed a private version of "Let It Be".
2006 - On the 18th of June, he celebrated his 64th birthday, as in "When I'm Sixty-Four". Paul Vallely noted in The Independent.
- Named "Man of the Year" at the GQ awards ceremony.
- He joined Jay-Z and Linkin Park onstage at the Grammy Awards in a performance of "Yesterday" to commemorate the recent passing of Coretta Scott King.
2007 - On the 21st of March, he left his longtime label EMI to become the first artist signed to Starbucks's new record label, Los Angeles-based Hear Music, to be distributed by Concord Music Group.
- On the 2nd of April, it was reported that a man believed to be a crazed fan drove through the security fence on Paul McCartney's Peasmarsh county estate shouting that he had to "get at" the ex-Beatle.
- Winner of the Q Icon Award.
- Recovering after undergoing a secret heart operation during the fall.
- Released his new album 'Memory Almost Full'.
