1927 - Born on the 3rd of February in Hagonoy, Bulacan.
1941 - He graduated valedictorian in the grade school at the Hagonoy Elementary School.
1948 - He finished his high school at the Far Eastern University.
- He pursued a degree in liberal arts at the Educational Center of Asia (formerly Quezon College) in Manila.
1954 - He joined the government as special assistant to the Secretary of Labor and technical assistant on labor and agrarian affairs.
1965 - He was appointed as Social Security Commissioner by President Ferdinand E. Marcos.
1967 - He became the Philippine Secretary (Minister) of Labor and Employment.
1978 - He was elected member of the Interim Batasang Pambansa representing Central Luzon.
1986 - He served as political campaign manager of President Marcos in Snap Elections.
1999 - He became the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
2002 - He was appointed by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as a Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
2003 - He died on the 14th of December, at the age of 76.
