Olbers, Heinrich Wilhelm Matthaus
1758 - Born on the 11th of October.
1780 - He began practicing medicine in Bremen, Germany.
- He devised the first satisfactory method of calculating cometary orbits.
1802 - He discovered and named the Asteroid Pallas.
1807 - He discovered the asteroid Vesta, which he allowed Carl Friedrich Gauss to name.
1811 - He was a member of the Corps Legislatif in Paris.
1815 - He discovered a periodic comet named after him.
1840 - He died on the 2nd of March.
