1964 – Born on the 26th of May in Pangnirtung, Northwest Territories.
1980 – He worked for the Tunngavik Federation of Nunavut.
1993 – He served as a representative on the Nunavut Implementation Panel.
1999 – He was called to the Bar, becoming the first Inuit lawyer in NWT/Nunavut history.
– He was elected to represent Iqaluit West in the first Legislative Assembly of Nunavut.
2004 – He is the first territorial premier in Canadian history to serve two consecutive terms.
