1880 – Born on the 19th of February in Navojoa, Sonora.

1911 – He entered politics as a mayor of the town of Huatabampo.

1914 – He joined Venustiano Carranza in revolt against Huerta’s new government, and succeeded in forcing Huerta from power.

1920 – He organized the military in a revolt against the president.

       – He was known for the agrarian and anticlerical reforms he instituted and for the cultivation of good relations with the United States.

1928 – He ran again for office, winning a second term as president after a bitterly contested election.

       – He returned to Mexico City to celebrate his victory, but was assassinated in a restaurant.

       – He died on the 17th of July in Mexico City.
