Nirenberg, Marshall Warren
1927 - Born on the 10th of April in New York City.
1948 - He received his B.S. degree, from the University of Florida.
1957 - He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan.
- He began his postdoctoral work at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
1959 - He began to study the steps that relate DNA, RNA and protein.
1960 - He became a research biochemist at the NIH.
1961 - He was married to Perola Zaltzman, a chemist from the University of Brazil.
1966 - He was awarded the National Medal of Science.
2001 - He was elected to the American Philosophical Society.
